Strange that parallel imports of consumer goods are allowed in retail shops, but mass parallel importation of books is illegal. Single individual shipments of book purchases from Amazon or Book Depositary are allowable. The strengthening Australian Dollar will, in most likelihood, make overseas purchases more attractive. Not good news for local bookshops.
